52 Stories: #14 When the pubs are missing

Mr. G., this is Jürgen from Plänterwald. As he says, he was forced to move here. Because when his wife left him, he didn't want to live in the big apartment anymore. Because sometimes it's not always about wanting, but also about affordable living space. He then came to Treptow-Köpenick and moved into an affordable "shoebox". That was 13 years ago now. When I ask him if there is anything he likes here, he replies: "The only thing that is still bearable is the peace and quiet in the park". He is saddened by the fact that restaurants and rooms to meet each other hardly exist anymore. According to Mr. G., everything has "perished. The Spreepark has been dead for several years, Eierhäuschen, they have been building on it for decades, and they won't finish it either. I miss people, talking over a beer." Mr G. is sitting near the observatory when I meet him, his favourite place in this area. He sees himself as a hermit in Treptower Park and feels good about it.
